With Apple Watch owners having now got to grips with their new gadgets since the watch was released Fiksu has announced event tracking capabilities for the device, enabling brand owners to understand how their apps are being used through the device.
Mobile marketing technology Fiksu enables brands to recognise and track user behaviour on the Apple Watch – which can include any event a marketer is interested in tracking from launches to registrations or purchases.
Since Apple Watch apps are dependent on a parent iPhone app marketers can use Fiksu’s existing iOS SDK to track events on both. App developers simply need to add a single line of code to their iPhone app and then tag the Apple Watch events they are increased in tracking – a process that Fiksu claims can be completed in as little as ten minutes.
“This is an exciting time for marketers looking to discover the potential of the Apple Watch, and we are fortunate to be able to offer our clients event tracking right from the start,” said Micah Adler, CEO and founder of Fiksu. “While marketers wait with great anticipation to see what the Apple Watch has in store as an advertising platform they can experience early benefits from the data and insights our event tracking offers.”
App developer Shotzoom has already added the capability for its Golfshop: Golf GPS iPhone app, which includes distance, scoring, club recommendations and club distance tracking. The company will be using the SDK to understand the adoption rates of Apple Watch amongst its customer base as well as identify users who have activated the watch. The company will also use the data to help determine if their Apple Watch users are more likely to be users of their paid pro app.
